This long established excellent traditional bar, with upstairs cocktail lounge (which can be privately booked), re-opened in 2022 after a ten year absence. It welcomes both locals and visitors alike and hosts frequent open mic music evenings. Many of the old features such as the spectacular bar gantry, cornices and panelling have been retained and refurbished. The real ales are generally from smaller breweries. Children are not admitted. JUNE 2025 - Food now being served Wednesday to Saturday in both upstairs lounge and downstairs bar. SEP 2025 - Announced 26th Sept that the kitchen was closed until further notice.
