NOV 2023 - A new more substantial conservatory is under construction and it is hoped it will be completed by this Christmas. NOTE: May close early if quiet. SEP 2023 - Serving food again Tue to Sun with breakfast until 12 noon. Sunday lunch 12-4. Booking recommended. MAY 2023 - Reopened on the 15th May. NOTE: Alcoholic drinks are served from noon. APR 2023 - Due to reopen by the end of the month. This will be on a gradual basis as the rear extension still needs to be rebuilt. This comfortable and welcoming pub near the English border is frequented by locals and travellers on the adjacent A1. The bar area, with real fire and sports TV, is decorated with nautical artefacts. It is carpeted throughout, apart from a small dance floor in the dining/function area, where all of the pub's interesting old photographs are now located. Handy for a walk down the steep hill to the charming little harbour at Lower Burnmouth.
