Templehall started life as part of the Temple Dairy back in 1812 and is now a small family-owned village hotel, popular with walkers on the St Cuthbert's Way. Following the closure of the smaller lower bar, the hub of the hotel is the upper Kale Lounge bar (accessed from the main road entrance), which doubles as a dining room and also in summer a tea room. Accommodation packages available for walkers. WARNING: Uncertainty about opening times. Check before travelling.
