See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

Old coaching inn beneath the mighty Forth Bridge as featured in the writings of Robert Louis Stevenson. It has been modernised into a multi-roomed pub but with salvaged furniture and wooden beams creating an 'olde worlde' feel. Very food orientated, but with a drinking area near the bar and a small central snug with real fire. The menu has a good selection of country-pub style dishes available all day. NOTE: Opens at 7am for breakfasts but alcoholic drinks are not sold until 11am. WARNING: Sadly real ale is not always available in recent times. Don't know what's going on in a pub that used to regularly sell 3 or 4!
