A friendly three-roomed hostelry dating from 1830 and close to the racecourse. The lively, cheerfully decorated public bar is half-timber panelled with wood effect floor. Dominoes is regularly played and the TV often shows sporting events. A smaller area leads off, with a dartboard and pictures of old local industries. The pleasant lounge, where families are welcome until 8pm, has a hardwood floor and comfortable seating and now contains a second dartboard used for matches. No food is served.
