A comfortable lounge bar in an old building with the original cornices retained. The walls are decorated with framed beermats and assorted breweriana. Refurbished in 2021 as Steel Coulson Southside with up to six cask ales and ciders on handpump. Also a selection of kegged beers with point of sale information that may identify those that are real ale from membrane-kegs. A range of bottles and cans are also available as off-sales. Note that the real ales and ciders featured on the handpumps may often be served on gravity from stillage at the far end of the bar. No food served but you're welcome to bring/order in you own. Look out for the vintage keg artefacts on the bar. May open earlier for rugby etc and also opens earlier at 12 noon in August when free Fringe shows are on (Fri - Sun).
