See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
A friendly inn dating from 1710 at the heart of a rural village which is a haven for walkers, with the Pennine Way, St Cuthbert's Way and the Scottish National Trail all close by. A large wood-burning stove dominates the bar where the locals are happy to chat with visitors. There is also a separate games room and an attractive little dining room. Meals are also available to take away. Enjoy the beer garden in summer!
