See more about this pub on CAMRA's national web site

Two-roomed pub in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle with wooden floors, high ceilings and old brewery window panels, which gives it an old-fashioned feel, complemented by candles in the evening. It is named after the uniform of a local school and inlaid on the floor is a large mosaic featuring a blue blazer, dated 1889. The back room is more spacious than the main room. Hand written detailed labels are displayed for each of the real ales. Apart from the five Aitken fonts dispensing real ales, two others have been converted to serve keg beers, and are clearly identifiable as such. A separate handpump dispenses cider which may not always meet CAMRA’s definition of a real cider. Sunday lunchtimes feature a free “help yourself” cheeseboard on the bar. NOTE: Children and Stag and Hen parties are not admitted.
